AGM election of committee officers
Venue: Porthpean

Hello everyone.
The up coming AGM gives everbody a chance to sit on the clubs committee.
As current chairman I have had the pleasure of serving the clubs membership and steering the club in the direction we are currently on.
It has given me great satisfaction to serve you.
I hope everybody has been happy with me.
The AGM is a time for election of New. And re-election of old committee members.
Is there a budding New club chairperson out there?
If you would like to be the new chair read the club website for how to be proposed or contact me for info.
I will happily run for another year if there is no one new who would like to stand for the post.
I feel though its time for a change so ask yourselves could I be the new chair?
Nominations should be sent to the Secretary (Nick) before the AGM
Good luck

Lee Flanagan

SEA TRIP   Saturday 11th November              Organiser     Lee Franklin 07964 435 125

BOAT - Ideally sea boats or estuary boats (short boats will struggle to cover the distance)

Check the website for cancellation info if weather is bad. (Ring me if unsure)

Departure Maenoporth beach  ...near Falmouth (Grid Ref 791297)

Car park on the beach (free I think at that time of year).

On the Water - ready to leave - at 10.00  Return and off the water by approx. 15.00

It will probably be cold…hot drink + packed lunch+ warm clothes = happy paddlers.

Route plan options (decision on the day)

  • Head south towards the Helford (4km).

Then mooch about in the Helford River.  Pick a nice spot for lunch and then head back.

  • Up the coast towards Falmouth round Pendennis point into Falmouth harbour, lunch at Flushing, and up the Penryn River.
  • Maenporth ..look at the 1978 wreck of the Scottish Trawler Ben Asdale
    ( 792298 )
…mostly just rusty lumps now but interesting at low water.

    Tides     HW 10.36 (4.4)      LW 17.24 ( 1.5)

If the weather is bad a reduced trip will probably run from Percuil. Watch for updates.
